Account Executive — Matchstick — Toronto

Matchstick, a North American leader in the word of mouth marketing industry, is seeking two Account Executives to join its expanding sales team in Toronto.

As one of the ideal candidates, you will use your advanced communication skills, established contacts and media sales or agency experience to develop new accounts.

Account Executive (North American Automotive) — minimum three years experience
Account Executive (National Advertisers) — minimum two years experience

The Company:
Matchstick’s work is based in the philosophy that the most powerful selling of products and ideas takes place not marketer to consumer, but consumer to consumer. Matchstick has executed word of mouth marketing initiatives for clients such as Coca-Cola Ltd., Kraft, Kellogg, Jaguar Land Rover, DaimlerChrysler, Maxxium and Molson.

Matchstick’s office is located in the downtown Liberty Village district of Toronto.

The Position:
Account Executives
Matchstick is seeking two individuals to join its account team in developing new word of mouth marketing business. One Account Executive will be focused on the North American automotive category, and the second Account Executive will be focused on national advertisers and their agencies.

Job Requirements

  • University graduate
  • Very organized and attentive to detail
  • Expert understanding of the marketing world, advertising categories and competitive media
  • Great communication skills (writing, phone, in-person, presentation)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills

Specific Requirements for “North American Automotive” position

  • Minimum three years media sales or agency experience
  • Experience selling media to automotive category clients or agencies
  • Strong contacts in automotive marketing category an asset

Specific Requirements for “National Advertisers” Position

  • Minimum two years media sales or agency experience
  • Experience selling media to beverage alcohol, or CPG category clients or agencies an asset

Job Responsibilities

  • Meet or exceed sales objectives by selling Matchstick services, leveraging professional sales techniques and existing client relationships
  • Prepare written presentations, proposals and price quotations
  • Negotiate client contracts
