Job Summary:
The Loan Officer candidate should have a minimum of five years lending experience with a proficiency in restructuring troubled credits within the commercial banking/financial services sector. Clear strategic thinking and the ability to analyze real estate transactions is a must. Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills are required, together with an entrepreneurial work ethic.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
* Maintaining and monitoring a portfolio of real estate assets being processed for liquidation
* The Loan Officer will monitor collateral, prepare valuations, review modifications, monitor property tax status, approve sales and develop marketing plans for the liquidation of commercial, residential and land transactions
* The Loan Officer communicates frequently with third party servicers, attorneys, state and local governments, property management companies, collection companies and individual borrowers to obtain information needed to evaluate and maintain properties in the various portfolios
* Actively participating in portfolio review sessions with CapitalSource senior management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
* A minimum of 5 years commercial lending/credit experience with exposure to loan workouts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge of accepted lending concepts and practices
* Strong analytical and communication skills required
* Ability to travel for client visits or other meetings
* Proficient with Word and Excel
