Mid-Island Mortgage Corp. is seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter, with a minimum of 7 years experience underwriting loans and has a foundation in credit analysis and exposure to lending products. Underwriting experience is required, with knowledge of all FNMA, FHA, and VA products, preferably a DE underwriter. Mid-Island Mortgage Corp. has been HUD approved to make FHA loans since 1960.
The candidate should possess a high energy level, a proven analytical ability, with excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written communication). Solid business judgment, the proven ability to make decisions independently and decisively, the ability to draw on prior experience to resolve issues and ability to pro-actively work at resolving application issues with mortgage loan officers and customers in order to underwrite files properly are imperative requirements. The candidate should be oriented toward a deal driven environment and be capable of managing multiple transactions simultaneously under tight time pressure.
