W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital Corp is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter to work out of our Salt Lake City, UT office (South Jordan, UT).

Duties associated with this position include the following:

· Manage New Loan Queue and Condition Queue with excellent time management skills to assure that daily productivity requirements are met and company published service standards for conditions are met (6 business hours)

· Publish Underwriting Dispositions, clear conditions, analyze Change Requests

· Analyze risk as it relates to investment quality loans

· Underwrite a loan package to investor/agency guidelines

· Maintain thorough understanding of loan documents

· Maintain complete knowledge of loan products

· Maintain complete knowledge of underwriting guidelines

· Complete computer data entry as needed; i.e. Tigris approval screens and various AUS systems and third party tools

· Communicate with originator, per service standards (4 - 6 business hours); answer underwriting and loan product questions

· Complete Underwriting Certifications, as necessary

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:

· Two-five years experience in the mortgage industry

· Strong communication, organization and time management skills

· Team player with a positive attitude willing to work with others in and out of the Operations Center

· Attention for detail

· Fast paced individual

· Strong computer skills

· Preferred Certifications: FHA - Direct Endorsement Underwriter

Job Description

The Government Underwriter will be responsible for the approval process of Government loans.  A thorough understanding of various product/program guidelines, necessary conditions for approval and technical/software navigation are expected to be exercised constantly and consistently to reach individual and team goals.  Our fast paced environment requires teamwork, excitement and ambition for continuing success.  Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are key, along with problem solving and decision-making abilities.
Short Description:  Responsible for reviewing, underwriting, and clearing conditions for Government FHA and VA loans.

Status: Full Time

Responsibilities
1. Underwriting both FHA and VA files.
2. Clearing conditions.
3. Providing strong customer service to both retail and wholesale customers.

Qualifications
1. Must have their FHA DE Number and experience underwriting FHA loans.
2. LAPP Approval for VA Appraisal review and experience underwriting VA loans preffered.
3. Experience with Automated Underwriting systems.
4. Current knowledge of FHA and VA guidelines.
5. Must possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
