Underwriters/Underwriter Lead/Trainer Dallas, TX

Our client is seeking Underwriters and Underwriter Leads to work in their Dallas, TX National Underwriting Center on a project that is expected to last a year or more.

Underwriters will:

1. Review closed loans
2. Perform risk analysis
3. Identify potential fraud
4. Communicate the results of file reviews both verbally and in written format to internal and external customers
5. Maintain a sound knowledge of secondary market activity, practices, and business/industry practices as they impact underwriting quality and origination activity

Qualifications:

The Underwriter Lead needs to be extremely well versed in underwriting and Fannie Mae guidelines and procedures as they will be responsible for providing subject matter expertise to external constituents. Will need to have great communication skills, patience, and the ability to provide detailed feedback to external lenders and servicers. Manual underwriting experience is a must. Should have experience working at a firm that deals with a variety of cases (types of homes, locations, environment, etc). Should understand how to read a contract and identify variances.

Regular Underwriters need:

1. Strong manual underwriting skills in the secondary market
2. Experience making the decisions on a loan and analyzing / reviewing the information regarding a loan particularly closed loans
3. Secondary market experience is ideal
4. 8+ years of underwriting experience
5. Undergraduate degree strongly preferred. Graduate degree in business, finance, accounting or related discipline preferred
6. Need to know Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines
7. National certifications are a plus
8. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Successful candidates will undergo background and drug screening.

Compensation is $30-$40/hour depending on experience.
