Position Overview:
Responsible for underwriting residential reverse mortgage loans within scope of authority, ensuring compliance with bank, FHA and secondary market guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Review loan file documentation for adherence to loan program guidelines, including but not limited to: property appraisal report, title report, hazard insurance and disclosures
- Analyze risks and set terms for loan approval, loan approval conditions, or detail reasons for denial
- Communicate effectively with internal staff to maintain company’s high level of customer service
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:
- 5+ years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
- Direct Endorsement (DE) designation (LAPP or
the right experience may be accepted) required - Working knowledge of current credit and collateral guidelines
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent communications skills- verbal and written
- Detail oriented
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills: DU, LP Microsoft Office
