Description

Underwriter mortgage loans originated through retail, wholesale/correspondent and credit union production channels.

Responsible for:

* Maintaining thorough knowledge of FHA/VA, Fannie, Freddie and Alt A underwriting guidelines
* Working with DU, LP, and other AUS systems
* Learning all loan products and internal systems/procedures
* Helping originators structure loan transactions
* Meeting daily and weekly production goals
* Monitoring pipelines to ensure loans flow through the system
* Participating in office meetings/functions and supporting company objectives

Requirements
Applicants must have experience underwriting a variety of loan in a fast-paced environment and be thoroughly knowledgeable on DU/LP. S/he must maintain production levels while being responsive to inquiries.

Individuals must be motivated, resilient, and even-tempered, must possess a thirst for knowledge and passion for the mortgage industry, and genuinely like and want to help people.

Candidates must have underwritten FHA loans for at least three years, learn quickly, and be willing and able to work the hours needed to meet client needs.
