. Evaluating a loan risk and approving or denying loans based on the characteristics of the borrower, collateral and investor guidelines.
. Reviews and evaluates credit information on mortgage loan documents to determine acceptability into loan program. Ensures credit information complies with internal and investor guidelines and requests additional information if needed. Approves or rejects loan application, records loan denials specifying basis for decision.

Requirements:

Education
. -High School Diploma, bachelors degree preferred.

Required Basic Qualifications
. A minimum of one year prior experience as a mortgage underwriter with knowledge of market and industry competition.
. Ability to read and interpret loan documents. Ability to gather and analyze information on a timely basis with accuracy and thoroughness.
. Requires basic computer knowledge (MS Word and Excel), and ability to calculate mathematical figures.

Preferred Basic Qualifications
. Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in all aspects of retail lending
. Prefer prior experience with AUS, FHA, or underwriting multiple products.
. Strong time management, interpersonal, organizational skills and attention to detail highly preferred.
. Sound and accurate judgment to support decisions.
