Underwriter Job - Dallas, TX - Posted 6/11/08

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Underwrites to GMAC/RFC and Homecomings Financial, Wholesale’s philosophy a minimum of 9 loans per day maintaining a customer service commitment of 24-hour turnaround time as exceptional and 48 hours as standard.   

Communicates all loan decisions to customer within one hour of issuance.  Accept and return phone voicemail and email messages from customers within one hour of receipt.   

Timely replies to Quality Control audit findings and Delivery/Suspense corrections program violations as requested by Management.   

Exhibits appropriate professional behavior including integrity, flexibility, results orientation, ability to interact effectively with others, team playing, and quality focus to provide for cohesive, productive unit dedicated to the achievement of company goals.  

Requirements

Minimum Education: 

High school diploma.

Work Experience:

Five years investment-grade mortgage lending experience.
Three years underwriting experience.

Technical Competencies:

MS Word, Excel, and mortgage industry applications.
Comprehensive understanding of FNMA/FHLMC/investor guidelines.
Ability to comply with company published policy/procedure and product materials.
Ability to fulfill loan file underwriting function by analyzing credit, income, assets, and property.
Familiarity with industry-standard underwriting practices.
Up-to-date knowledge of market conditions.
