JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Mortgage Direct Endorsement Underwriter analyzes and assures residential mortgage loans comply with bank, FHA/VA, and secondary market standards. The certified DE Underwriter has the authority to underwrite loans on behalf of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development and HUD.

Responsibilities include reviewing all loans to investor and FCB guidelines, underwriting all new and re-submitted loans according to investor and FCB guidelines, reviewing appraisals according to investor and FCB guidelines, scoring and re-scoring loans if required, provide options/solutions for denied loans for counter offers, establishing and maintaining relationships with investors, providing consultative services to Mortgage Bankers, evaluating “clear conditions” prior to loan closings if required, and reviewing HUD-1 statements for FHA/VA compliance.

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold FHA/Direct Endorsement Underwriter Designation.
4 Yr College Degree BA/BS/BBA & 4 yrs Direct Endorsement Underwriting experience —OR— 6 Yrs Direct Endorsement Underwriting Experience.
