We are looking for a Loan Workout Officer to join our Small Business Workout Team in Rosemont, Illinois. You will be responsible for management and resolution of a portfolio of non-performing delinquent small business loans originated by BPNA Branches in the New York, Central Florida and South Florida Regions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect post due payments from customers
- Formulate and implement litigation strategies with outside counsel
- Properly manage risk rating of each loan assigned to the portfolio
- Properly mange charge off recommendations to management
- Provide support and guidance to the branch team in working with problematic customers.
- Actively go on field calls to inspect equipment and liquidations of collateral as necessary.
- Prepare monthly reports for senior management.
- Monitor delinquent loans in the region.
- Assist the region al managers on field calls when applicable.
- Review credit quality of files transferred to the Cash Asset Management Group, to determine appropriate course of action.
- Oversee and control classified loans that are assigned to Cash Asset Management Group.
- Responsible for periodic credit write up on accounts for management review.
- Responsible for the maintenance and restructure of classified loans as necessary.
- Prepare liquidation reports and plan for each classified file.
- Prepare to liquidate collateral on short notice when applicable.
- Act as liaison and work closely with SBA Group.
- •Follow and act in compliance with SBA guidelines when sending packages to the SBA for repurchase of their guaranty.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- Experience and knowledge of Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
- Understanding of legal remedies available in loan default scenarios and ability to work effectively with outside attorneys.
- Must understand SBA standard operating procedures regarding collections and liquidations.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of banking principles, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
- Computer literate with a complete understanding of Microsoft Office programs and Excel.
- •Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships both internally and externally.
- ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree with an accounting background preferred with complete reconciliation experience.
