MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER
Reston, Virginia
In this role you will…
· Cultivate and maintain relationships with Realtors, builders, and other intermediaries who can refer mortgage applicants.
· Sell full portfolio of Mortgage products to consumers who are buying or refinancing homes. This process involves both face-to-face meetings and telephone selling.
· Work closely with the operations staff (particularly Processors, Underwriters, and Closers) to ensure that the loan applications are fully completed, that the necessary supporting documentation is received, and that the loans close as scheduled.
· Understand and comply with mortgage industry regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, Truth-in-Lending laws,etc.
· Cross-Sell other bank products to mortgage borrowers.
· Apply underwriting standards of our various investors (Chevy Chase Bank, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, etc.) to each transaction to ensure that borrowers are put into a loan program for which they qualify. This includes analyzing people’s credit histories to ensure that they are eligible for our products (and how to counsel them if they are not). apital One will not file non-immigrant visa petitions for alien workers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
· 1 year of sales experience.
· HS diploma, GED, or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· At least 3 years of mortgage lending experience.
· Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience.
