Job Description:
A Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating mortgage loans, submitting applications to the processing department, and providing required disclosures to borrowers, communicating with borrowers, mortgage loan processors, mortgage loan closer, and mortgage loan underwriter during processing and closing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Originate mortgage loans
-Make external and internal sales calls
-Make sales presentations to referral groups
-Comply with regulatory, secondary market and bank policies and guidelines
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Experience in mortgage loan origination, related documentation and compliance preferred
-Experience with the Bank’s mortgage processing computer system preferred
-Word and Excel experience preferred
-General knowledge of hazard insurance and life & disability insurance required
-Working knowledge of real estate loan documentation required
-Working knowledge of lending regulations required
