Job Description

Ohio Commerce Bank, located in Beachwood, Ohio, is currently looking to fill a Senior Commercial Loan Officer position. This position will manage large and/or complex loan accounts ensuring adherence to Bank Credit Policy and ongoing profitability for the Bank. They will solicit and develop all types of business activity, specializing in larger loan relationships. Through the loan function, the incumbent is expected to generate deposits and income fees for the Bank.

Required Skills

# Develops and manages large and/or complex loan accounts; interviews loan applicants, collects and analyzes information which reflects the current credit worthiness of customers and the current merits of existing loans. Information may be obtained in a variety of methods, including inspection of the applicant’s business and/or collateral, review of financial reports, personal interview, etc. Prepares loan presentations.

# Establishes, and negotiates where necessary, the terms under which credit will be extended, including the costs, repayment method and schedule and collateral.

# Approves loans up to stated lending limit and in general, handles the more complex and substantial loans of the Bank. Serves as a member of the Loan Committee, and other committees as assigned.

# Monitors loan repayment activities and takes necessary action to collect past due accounts.

# In conjunction with management team, may participate in the evaluation of deposit and loan products as well as enhancements to increase operating efficiency, profits or market share.

# Represents the Bank with business, trade associations and customers; promotes the Bank’s image as a good corporate citizen.

# Through community and business functions, determines various depository and credit needs of the Bank’s market area to ensure that Community Reinvestment (CRA) objectives are being met.

# May perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

# Assists with documenting loans to ensure complete loan files are maintained; works with customers and loan accounting/payment issues as needed.

Skills/Equipment

# A high level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively throughout the Bank and represent the Bank positively to the public and acquire working relationships with current and potential loan accounts.

# A high level of analytical skill to assess and evaluate areas of responsibility including determination of loan risk involved and recommendation of credit limitations.
# Familiar with Excel and Microsoft Word. Good written and verbal skills.

# A thorough knowledge of all Bank services.
Required Experience

# A technical level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a program in business administration, finance or related area and/or five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience in lending is preferred.
