Loan Officer Job - Anaheim, CA - Posted 3/12/08

Job Description:

POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
This position is responsible for the solicitation and development of credit relationship with mortgage brokers, real estate brokers, and real estate investors for commercial real estate loans.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge and compliance of the bank’s multifamily/commercial real estate loan programs, bank’s multifamily/commercial real estate loan policies, and procedures.
  • Soliciting multifamily/commercial real estate loans for the bank from present customers, other investors, real estate brokers and other real estate loan referral sources.
  • Complying with the bank’s policies, federal regulations and laws, and state laws.
  • Requesting and collecting all needed loan documentation and fees.
  • Assist Loan Processor in assembling loan application packages in compliance with bank standards.
  • Open escrow, see that the title report has been ordered, and arrange for access to the property by the appraiser and environmental assessor.
  • Prepare narrative loan approval request.
  • Review client’s loan applications to ensure accuracy and compliance with established criteria, determine eligibility and analyze the customer’s repayment ability
  • Acting as the first line of communication between the broker, borrower and processor.
  • Having the primary duty to see that contingencies are met before funding.
  • Participating in In-House training programs.
  • Prepare and send out letters of interest after initial analysis and pricing is approved by management.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ATRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Ability to research and analyze financial statements.
  • Complete knowledge of all bank products, sales and service techniques.
  • Ability to use various interpersonal styles and communication methods, depending on customer and situation, to gain their acceptance of a product or service.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
  • Computer literate; fluency in Microsoft Office programs, Excel analysis required
  • Effective sales ability and persuasiveness.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships and contacts with professional and business organizations and develop teamwork with co-workers on other related units.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation & follow-up skills

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field combined with a minimum 4 years of related work experience.
