Loan Processor Job - East Windsor, NJ - Posted 2/5/08

MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR

We are currently seeking a Mortgage Loan Processor to join our team in our East Windsor, NJ location!

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manger of Lending, responsible for receiving and verifying accuracy of 1st Mortgage loan applications and performing a variety of support duties related to the mortgage lending function including booking approved loans and sending out adverse action notices to denied loan applicants

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Receives and reviews loan applications (1003 form) for accuracy and completeness.
  • Corresponds with applicants or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Prepare and mail out Good Faith Estimate (GFE) within three (3) business of receipt of mortgage application.
  • Provide all applicable disclosures for both fixed and variable rate loans.
  • Process loan to include employment verification, deposit accounts, and all liabilities in order to prepare application of verified information.
  • Order and check tri-merge credit report to determine initial credit worthiness of applicant(s) based upon collateral /equity value standards.
  • Request and evaluate real-estate appraisal to ensure proper guidelines are followed and final value is properly determined.
  • Request flood certification to determine if property is or is not in a flood zone.
  • Ensure member’s attorney or title company has ordered title work.
  • Ensures loan application is complete and ready for review by the Mortgage Loan Underwriter.
  • Work with Credit Union’s Closing Attorney’s to ensure all items are in closing package and that the scheduled closing will take place on time.
  • Performs post-closing documentation and scanning process.
  • Cross-sell loan products or services to all loan applicants where applicable.

• Maintain a system and procedures to monitor all required documentation is received and recorded appropriately and according to policies and procedures.

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or a GED, or an agreed upon equivalent.
  • One to three years of related work experience in a financial institution with progressively responsible duties.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Computer literacy required.
  • Demonstrate good public relations skills.
  • Possess high level of interpersonal skills.
